What kind of tests is there to get your drivers license in NC?

I always thought it was only a driving part...but i went to dmv site says there's a written test..all of my friends didn't' take a writing part...but on site it says there's one..

Note: My friends took theirs 2 years ago when they was 16, I'm now almost 18 and planning on taking the testsWhat kind of tests is there to get your drivers license in NC?
You test for the learners permit, which allows you to practice driving if you need it, and to sit the test.

See http://www.ncdot.org/DMV/driver_services鈥?/a>

The final step towards getting your original North Carolina driver license or learner permit is passing the driver's tests.

To get your Learner Permit you only have to pass the first three tests: vision; traffic signs; and driving knowledge. But if you plan on getting your Driver License you'll have to pass all four tests.

Vision

Traffic Signs

Driving Knowledge

Driving Skills (Road Test)

For the complete descriptions of what each driver's test involves visit the online Driver's Handbook: Chapter 1 - Test Requirements for an Original Driver License; or download pdf versions of the Driver's Handbook here:

Maybe your friends aren't remembering correctly. The test does, and has always, consisted of a written portion and a driving portion. It's not that tough, though. You can pick up a brochure from the DMV to brush up beforehand.
DMV practice tests are there.. You can practise a fake test in online.. Try this site.. dmv.org/nc-north-carolina/practice-tests鈥?Check out this.. They offer a series of California DMV Practice tests to help you prepare for your Drivers License, Motorcycle, or CDL test.. take this test before you attend the original test..
